Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Service

The Village Police, Fire Department and Ambulance are accessible in emergencies by dialing 911.

The Fire Department will conduct fire safety inspections upon request and advise upon smoke alarms and disposal of hazardous materials.

The important fire and ambulance services are dependent upon volunteers. We are always looking for village residents who would like to acquire new and valuable skills and experience while performing a highly valued and community service.

Neighborhood Watch

Residents are urged to report suspicious activity to the police. The Village is patrolled at intervals twenty-four hours a day. The patrolling officer may be contacted by calling 244-1430 (7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.) or 266-4948 (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.)

Refuse Information

Pick up is on Mondays in the Lower Bluff, Tuesdays in the Upper Bluff. If a holiday falls on a Monday, refuse is picked up on Tuesday and Wednesday. The boundary between the Upper and Lower Bluff is the Beach house.

Please have refuse and recyclables at the curb by 7:00 a.m.

Large items (appliances and furniture) will be collected on the regular pickup days. If you wish to leave such items out on another day, call the Village Center to see if the crew is available. New fee's are $25.00; $15.00; $5.00 which can be purchased at the Village Center during regular business hours Monday thru Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.  The stickers must be placed in a visible area in order for the Village to pick-up the item.

Newspapers should be bundled separately and tied securely. Wet papers are not accepted at our recycling center, so please make an effort to protect the bundled newspapers from inclement weather.

Grass clippings will not be removed, but the Village will pick up leaves and brush (branches and limbs from trees and shrubs). Leaves may be raked into piles at the curb or placed in reusable containers. Leaves must be kept separate from the brush because these go to different landfills.

Please call the Village Public Works Department at 244-3048 for current information about disposal of grass clippings

Recyclable waste and newspapers should be placed at the curb on scheduled pick-up days. Glass (clear, blue, green), aluminum, tin containers and corrugated cardboard are to placed in the recycling bin obtainable from the Village. Corrugated cardboard should be flattened and tied. Plastic items with a #1 (only soda and clear liquor bottles) and #2 are being collected. For containers used for medicine, oil or chemicals contact the Village Center. For a detailed list call the Village Center or watch the bulletin or call the Village Center for current information

*Soda bottles can be recycled too.

Village Gym Reservation Information

See below for complete Gym Reservations fees
The gym is available only to residents and cannot be used for more than 12 weeks in a row.

Contact the Recreation Director at the Village Center about gym reservations, open gym, or walk-in use of the facility. 244-3048.

Village of Maple Bluff Gym Use Prodedure

Intent
The intent of this procedure is to maximize the use of the Village Center Gym while providing a safe, fun, and fair environment for all residents and their guests.

Gym Availability
There are three categories of gym use to include Reservations, Open Gym, and Walk In. Each are defined below:

Reservations
This is the primary use of the gym and will take precedent over both Open Gym and Walk In. Reservations are made through the Recreation Director in accordance with the Facility Use Reservation Policy.

Open Gym
This category has been established to provide maximum gym use while providing a supervised environment to assure safety, compliance with rules, and equal gym use. Open gym hours are established and posted during times of peak gym usage. A paid supervisor will monitor open gym. However, there may be instances where supervision will not be possible.

The supervisor will be responsible for the activities in the gym, registration, attendance, fee collections, rule enforcement, inventory of equipment, and overall positive relationship with residents and guests.

Walk-In (Key Program)
During hours in which the gym is not reserved or open, Village Residents may obtain a key from the front office or dispatch area. The purpose of this program is to allow children and adults access to the gym without a paid supervisor monitoring the activity.

To be issued the key to the gym, the Village Resident must provide a drivers license or some type of identification card which will be returned to them once the key is returned. Giving the key to an individual authorizes them and only those people authorized by them to be in the gym.

People who check out the key are responsible for payment of his or her fee and any fee’s of their guests.

There is a one-hour time limit per key checkout. The one-hour limit applies specifically in cases where multiple groups are interested in using the facility.

Compliance
Violations of this procedure or other established rules of the gymnasium may result in the temporary suspension of gym use privileges.
