Maple Bluff Beach Information Maple Bluff Beach House will be open to the public starting May 24th and closing Labor Day weekend. Hours vary in the beginning of the season and become steady in June from 11am-7pm. Please consult the website and posted calendars, which will be located at the Beach House. If you need to contact someone at the Beach House during the summer, please call (608) 241-8520; the address is 365 Lakewood Boulevard.

Arts & Athletics Arts & Athletics is a summer program that provides a fun and safe atmosphere for children going into second grade through sixth grade. Each afternoon consists of one hour of structured games, and one hour of games, crafts, or swimming (child choice). Daily and weekly themes set the stage for games and projects.
Dates: June 16-August 22 (no program July 4) Where: Maple Bluff Beach When: Monday through Friday from 2-4pm Ages: Entering 2nd grade through 6th grade Cost for Summer: $125
Outdoor Company This is a great opportunity for teens to hang out with friends and explore all what Wisconsin/Illinois has to offer! Each Tuesday we will be hanging out at Johnson Park from 1:30-2:30pm. Please bring a bike and comfortable shoes. On Thursdays, we will be going on a trip to various destinations in the area. You will need to bring enough money to cover the cost of the trip. Since the van only holds 6 passengers, parents are needed to drive for certain trips. Some trips require tickets to be purchased ahead of time: Six Flags, Noah’s Ark and Mallard’s game. Passenger seating is limited to 10 for Six Flags and Noah’s Ark, so please sign-up early!

Early Adventures This is a themed three day program for kids of all ages! These programs offer games, crafts, and other activities related to the theme. You may sign-up for one week or all seven.

NEW! Monday After School Care Need a place for your child to go when school gets out early on Mondays? Come to the Village Center! We will be playing outside at Fireman’s Park and doing various crafts and activities.
I will meet your child(ren) at the bus stop near Oxford and Kensington. Please inform the bus driver of this change. You can pick your child(ren) up anytime between 2-4pm.
Please fill out a registration form at the Village Center. You can sign up for individual weeks or all 5.

Special Events/Classes
Baby-sitter’s Certification Are you interested in becoming a Certified American Red Cross Baby-sitter? Here is your chance! The American Red Cross will be hosting a certification course right in the Village. Please bring your own lunch.
You must be at least 11 years old to participate. Minimum enrollment: 8, maximum enrollment: 12.
Registration is due May 30, 2008.

Movie Nights Bring some blankets, chairs, family and friends down to the Beach to enjoy an outdoor movie. On several Fridays throughout the summer, G/PG-rated films will be shown on a large screen at Beach Park. Movies will begin at dusk. Enjoy popcorn, soda, and candy; all available at a minimal charge. In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be rescheduled for a later date. Parents, please note this is a family event and your attendance is STRONGLY encouraged. Children causing noisy disruptions will be asked to leave.
June 20, July 18, August 1 and August 15 beginning at Dusk
Beach Blast Bring the family down to the Beach to indulge in hot dogs, brats, chips, soda, and more. Meet the Beach staff and catch-up with neighbors. Following dinner, kids can compete in the famous “Sandcastle Palooza” and “River Contest”. Winners will be featured in the Village newsletter. All proceeds benefit summer programs.
June 25 from 5:30-7pm
Parents vs. Kids Kickball Kids, come down to the Beach park and show off your talents in kickball against the parents! All ages of kids and adults are welcome. After the competition, we will be serving ice cream with lots of toppings. We ask that each participant bring one topping to share (ice cream will be supplied). Hope to see you there!
July 16 from 6:30-8:30pm
Arts & Athletics/Outdoor Company Campout This will be the third annual campout for all Arts & Athletics and Outdoor Company participants. The camping will be supervised by the lifeguards and Recreation Director. If anyone is interested in volunteering, please contact the Recreation Director at 244-3048. If you have a tent, please bring one. Each participant must bring over night sleeping equipment and clothing. We will be having a campfire, so please bring a S’more kit (marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers) and any other snacks or beverages you may need. We will be playing games until Dusk. Cost is $15 per participant to cover supervision costs.
August 4 from 7:00pm until 8:00am the next morning.

I am looking for fun and energetic volunteers for Arts & Athletics, Outdoor Company and Early Adventures. You can volunteer for as little or as much time as you want. Reserving rooms at the Village Center and Beach House
To reserve the Gym, Conference Room, Training Room or Beach House, call 244-3048 and ask for the Recreation Director. All educational programs will be exempt from the 5.5% tax.
Gym Rates for Sports: $10/hr plus 5.5% tax Rates for Parties: $40 for the first 2 hours; $15 for each additional hour plus 5.5% tax. Also, $100 security deposit is needed.
Conference Room & Training Room Rates: $10/hr plus 5.5% tax
NEW POLICY! Beach House From May 1-September 15, reservations cannot be made until after 7pm. The Beach House is staffed and open to the public during operating hours. Also, lifeguards need to be present during your reservation.

Lifeguard Fee: (required) $40. Swimming must commence by 9pm, but rental can last until 10pm.
